On Saturday 12th April Saturn will be setting off from Ellesmere to Ellesmere Port, travelling via Grindley Brook, Wrenbury, Barbridge and Chester. This is a journey which she must have done many times in her fly-boat days. For most of the journey Saturn will be towed by the historic motor boat, Buckden. Saturn is expected to arrive at Chester on Tuesday 15th April where she will be moored for a day or so as many more historic boats arrive on their way to Ellesmere Port

On Good Friday, 18th April, Saturn will be horse drawn from Chester to the National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port, pulled by Flower, a nine year old mare. This will be a rare opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of traditional horse boating. Saturn will set off around 11.00am and should arrive at the Museum soon after 2.00pm.

Saturn and Flower will then be on display at the National Waterways Museum over the Easter weekend along with many other visiting historic boats.

Please come and visit us; climb aboard and see the tiny back cabin; have a look at the cargo in the hold. Our volunteers will be pleased to show you around and share Saturn's story.
